Join the English Culture and Language Club to build stage skills, grow in confidence, and develop a love for drama through performances and showcases.
CCA Overview
GMS(P) English Culture and Language Club offers Drama CCA students a platform to:
• learn valuable stage craft skills (in acting, movement, voice) with the aim of making performances.
• explore the art form of theatre-making thereby building a love and appreciation for Drama.
• exemplify values such as teamwork, perseverance and confidence in everything they do.
• explore the process of Drama – from stories, to scripts, to putting it onto the floor, to rehearsing and finally, to performing.
Opportunities will be given for students to hone their skills and demonstrate their capabilities in peer-to-peer showcases. This allow students to become confident performers and makers of the art, in both mini presentations as well as in school performances and competitions.

Achievements
In 2018, we sought the support of ACT 3 to develop our students’ skills in puppetry and they performed for the CCA Open House Day.
The students also performed a skit on racial integration and neighbourliness for the Racial Harmony Day commemoration in school.
In April 2019, all the ELDS members performed a skit for the International Friendship Day in which the different cultures and heritage of the 10 ASEAN nations were depicted.
In July 2019, a group of students will perform a puppet show based on the story ‘The Lion King’ for the Treehouse Student Care as part of their VIA programme.
In November 2019, the ELDS will also be involved in the 95th Anniversary Celebration Concert.
